As we  were  photography

Hi, i’m terra

If you’ve met me, you’ve probably seen me with a camera in hand. I don’t think I’ve ever been anywhere in my life without snapping a photo.

My love for photography started back in grade two when I proudly brought home my very first camera from a Scholastic book fair — a Mary-Kate and Ashley ‘Two of a Kind’ hot pink and purple 110 film camera. From that moment on, I was hooked. When I was ten, I unwrapped a Fujifilm camera at Christmas, and it quickly became my pride and joy. One of my fondest memories of my childhood is my Dad bringing me into the city to go to Blacks Photography for more B&W 35mm film. My teddies and pets were my first “models” patiently posing while I learned to see the world through a lens.

From there came the polaroids, the quirky Game Boy camera,

and a steady supply of disposables that never

left my backpack through elementary and high school.

When digital cameras arrived, I was already capturing everything —

every outing, every laugh, every tiny memory that I didn’t want to lose.

That passion for documenting life never left me. Today I’m a wife, a mom of three incredible kids, and the heart behind As We Were Photography. Memory keeping has always been a part of me — from scrapbooks, photo albums and Timehop memories to the photos taped to my childhood bedroom walls. I know how quickly the seasons of life can change, and how important it is to hold onto the fleeting details before they slip away.

Living here in Glengarry, I’m inspired daily by the beauty of our trails, waterfront, and historic landmarks : places that tell stories of their own and make the perfect backdrop for yours. Whether it’s a quiet family walk,

kids running through fields, or the golden light dancing off the water,

I believe the real magic is in the in-between moments.

As We Were is more than just a name — it’s my promise to you. To capture your story as it unfolds, naturally and authentically, so you can look back years from now and remember not just how it looked, but how it felt.
